I pray this message finds you well and uplifted today. May the counsel of the Lord prevail over every situation in your life this week, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Sometimes, we make detailed plans for how we want things to unfold. We work hard and carefully prepare for the future. We may even believe that success depends largely on our plans and efforts.
However, circumstances can change without warning.
Perhaps something unexpected has happened this week. Maybe a decision from the past has created consequences you did not anticipate. You may even feel that your carefully prepared plans are beginning to fall apart.
When this happens, remember that God remains in control.
The Bible gives us this important reminder:
“There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.”
— Proverbs 19:21 (NKJV)
Our plans may change, but God’s purposes do not change. We may not understand why circumstances have taken an unexpected direction. Nevertheless, we can trust the wisdom and faithfulness of God.
Our security does not rest in the success of our plans. Instead, our confidence rests in the character of God.
God sees what we cannot see. He understands the beginning, the middle, and the end. Therefore, a change in our plans does not mean that God has lost control.
Sometimes, God allows a plan to change because He wants to redirect our steps. At other times, He may use an unexpected situation to develop our faith, reveal something important, or open another opportunity.
Therefore, do not allow disappointment to make you lose sight of God.
Instead, pause and seek His direction.
Ask yourself:
- What is God teaching me through this situation?
- Is He redirecting my steps?
- What does faithfulness require from me now?
- What is the next step God wants me to take?
You may not have all the answers today. However, you can still take the next faithful step.
A failed plan does not mean God has lost control. Pause, listen, and trust Him to show you your next step.
Sometimes, God allows our plans to change because He has a purpose we cannot yet see.
Acknowledge that God sees the whole picture. Recognise your limitations and depend on Him.
Then take the next faithful step and leave the outcome in His hands.
Your plan may have changed, but God is still in control.
