I pray this message finds you well and uplifted today.
Sometimes, we find ourselves in David’s shoes. He faced betrayal, disappointment and deep personal anguish. Yet, in the middle of his distress, David found strength in God.
“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”
— Psalm 55:22 (NIV)
David’s words remind us that God cares about the burdens we carry. He does not ask us to face every difficulty alone.
However, casting our cares on the Lord does not mean abandoning our responsibilities. Instead, it means recognising what belongs to us and what belongs to God.
We can ask ourselves:
What is God asking me to do?
Is there something God has instructed me to do that I keep postponing?
Is there a responsibility I need to face rather than avoid?
Have I been trying to control something that belongs in God’s hands?
These questions help us respond to our circumstances with faith and wisdom.
We must do what God has entrusted to us. At the same time, we must trust Him with what we cannot control.
Therefore, cast your cares on the Lord and trust Him to sustain you.
To cast your cares on God means to place your burdens into His hands.
It means we stop carrying alone what God invites us to entrust to Him.
This does not mean that our circumstances will immediately change. However, God promises His sustaining presence.
Peter gives us a similar encouragement:
“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV)
God cares about what concerns you.
Your disappointments matter to Him.
Your struggles matter to Him.
Your responsibilities matter to Him.
Your uncertainties matter to Him.
Therefore, bring them to Him in prayer.
Could this be the counsel you need to act on today?
Perhaps your heart feels heavy. Maybe you are facing disappointment, uncertainty or personal pressure.
You may even be carrying responsibilities that came through God’s blessings.
Whatever concerns you today, bring it before the Lord.
Ask Him to show you what you must do. Then trust Him with what you cannot control.
Remember, God works all things according to the counsel of His will (Ephesians 1:11).
Nothing escapes His attention. Nothing lies beyond His care.
As we step into this new week, let us carry this assurance with us:
God is faithful.
Whether we experience flourishing or instability, God remains our source of strength.
When we cast our cares on the Lord, He sustains us. He gives us strength to keep standing when circumstances become difficult.
Therefore, do not allow today’s burden to determine tomorrow’s outlook.
Do what God has called you to do. Pray about what concerns you. Trust Him with what remains beyond your control.
Cast your cares on the Lord. He will sustain you.
Even when you cannot see the way forward, God is still at work.
“Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.”
— Proverbs 16:3 (NKJV)
May you experience God’s sustaining grace throughout this week.
