In Everything Give Thanks: A Biblical Reflection for Week 52 of 2025

We give all the glory to God for bringing us through the year. Now, we stand in Week 52 of 2025. As we look back, we see countless reasons to thank Him. I trust you share that same gratitude.

The closing days of the year invite reflection. Some goals came to pass. Others did not. Relationships shifted. Expectations changed. Yet, Scripture reminds us of a deeper truth. Regardless of outcomes, God still deserves our thanks.

True thanksgiving does not depend on emotions. Instead, it flows from obedience and trust. When we choose gratitude, we align with God’s will. Moreover, thanksgiving prepares our hearts for the year ahead. It opens the door to renewed hope.

“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV)

This command leaves no exceptions. It calls us to thank God in success and in delay. It invites praise in joy and in uncertainty.

Reflection

Can you thank God not only for what you achieved this year, but also for what you did not achieve?

In everything, give thanks.

Motivation

Thanksgiving is an act of worship. It is also an act of surrender. It declares, “Lord, I trust You with my past and my future.”

As we step into a new year, let gratitude shape our hearts. Do not let regret or fear define your outlook. Instead, embrace grateful confidence. The God who carried you this far will continue His good work in you.

Once again—in everything, give thanks.
